Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar believes that playing a day-night Test in Australia could be a "challenging" task for the tourists since the hosts are used to play with the pink ball while it will only be the second D/N Test for the tourists.
The hosts have already played more matches with the pink ball than any other team while India has played just one match against Bangladesh last year.
India and Australia are scheduled to play four-match Test series later this year, starting with the first Test from December 3 in Brisbane wherein the second Test would be a day-night affair at Adelaide Oval. They will also play three T20Is and as many as ODIs on the tour as well.
In an interaction with ANI, Bhuvneshwar said: “Everyone is excited for the series between India and Australia as after a long time, there would be a game to watch and also, we would be playing against one of the toughest opponents out there.”
On the Day/Night Test in Adelaide, he added, “It is going to be fun to play with the pink ball in Adelaide.”
Meanwhile, Indian players will have to undergo a needed 14-day isolation period ahead of the Test series as part of COVID-19 precautions and the pacer feels it would help the tourists in getting used to the Australian conditions before the tour gets underway at The Gabba.
Speaking about the quality of India's pace attack, he said, “I do not know whether it is the best or not but it is very good for sure because of every individual's ability. You need the support of the captain through everything and Virat has always been helpful to each of us.”
While the Coronavirus pandemic completely wiped off four full months of cricketing action, the 30-year-old is hoping to have some IPL fun following a long break from the game.
Kumar signed off by saying, “I hope IPL happens this year, we will play anywhere in the world. I do not know when cricket will resume but everyone will be excited to come back to the ground.”
