Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has on Sunday (July 5) confirmed that the second group of Pakistan cricketers is set to join the rest of the national squad in their training for England series after being tested negative upon arrival in Worcester.

The six Pakistan cricketers including Mohammad Hafeez, Wahab Riaz, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Hasnain arrived in England on Saturday where they had a Coronavirus Test which came negative for all the players and they have been allowed to practice at Worcester.
The second group of the Pakistan cricketers who were originally scheduled to arrive England with the original planned 29-member squad but arrived late because of being tested Coronavirus-positive earlier. They were sent to England after being tested twice negative for COVID-19 in three days in Pakistan.
The PCB has announced the latest development in a statement: “Mohammad Hafeez, Wahab Riaz, Fakhr Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Hasnain joined the national squad. All of the players who arrived in Worcester yesterday have had tested negative for COVID-19. Due to the negative results of the test, six players were allowed to practice.”
Noteworthy, a total of 20 players of the Pakistan squad and 11 members of the management arrived in England on June 28 and the team has also started regular training after tested COVID-19 negative.
England and Pakistan are slated to play three Tests and three T20Is in a bio-secure bubble at the empty stadium in a wake of COVID-19 pandemic, starting from July 30 followed by a Test series next month.
