After lengthy discussions with England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) over bio-secure arrangements in which the tour could possibly be held, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to send the national side to UK for the scheduled three-match Test series in the summer. 

However, a final decision on the matter is yet to be taken, considering the level of uncertainty over how things might transpire in the coming weeks amid COVID-19 pandemic.

Pakistan's trip, says a report in 'The Telegraph', could see the Test series starting on August 5, instead of July, and conclude with three T20Is in early September. 

The touring party, likely to include around 25 players, will probably travel to the U.K in early July via a charter flight in order to reduce the alarming risk of viral spread. 

Given the effort will be to create a bio-secure environment for players to train and play games, they will be checked on arrival and checked regularly thereafter also, with multiple testing sites to be created on grounds. 

Hotel assurances near the stadium where the game is to be held have also been provided by the ECB.

"A lot of time and energy has gone into the plans. The attention to detail was impressive and we are satisfied that safety will be the number one priority at all times. We stand in solidarity with the ECB," PCB CEO Wasim Khan was quoted as saying by 'The Telegraph', expressing pleasure over precautionary measures planned for the tour. 

If indeed the series happens, and goes through safely, it'll be a major breakthrough for the sport, given the circumstances, where over 40 lakh people have been infected by the virus, including more than 2.9 lakh deaths.
