Pakistan Cricket Board rejected Bangladesh's proposal to share host the scheduled Test series and play one of the two World Test Championship fixtures in Dhaka with the other, as originally planned, in Pakistan.

The board has made clear to its Asian counterpart that the hosting rights of the series, slotted in February-March, will remain solely with Pakistan.

"It is strange that the BCB wants Pakistan to play a Test in Bangladesh in return," a PCB official told PTI. Bangladesh had earlier cited security reasons for its discomfort in touring Pakistan for two Tests, three T20Is and wanted to instead split the assignment with the shortest-version given first preference and be used as a testing ground for the PCB arrangements.

This, bringing the possibility of shifting the Test series to a neutral venue into play, which the PCB is absolutely against especially having successfully hosted Sri Lanka for a two-Test series in Rawalpindi and Karachi in December.

"Privately the proposal to have one Test in Pakistan and one in Bangladesh has been floated but has been rejected," the official added.
