SA v ENG 2020: Day 2- Elgar and van der Dussen fifties save face for SA as they end on 215/8

England was folded up for 269 early at the start with Ollie Pope remaining unbeaten for 61. Rabada ended up picking 3/68. In reply, Broad removed debutant Pieter Malan and Zubayr Hamza for 5 runs each, while Anderson took care of captain Faf du Plessis, who made 1 run.

Dean Elgar stood rock solid for his 180-ball 88 runs before Dom Bess had him caught by Root. Rassie van der Dussen continued his good run with the bat, making 68, before falling to Sam Curran, who had also picked the wickets of De Kock (20). South Africa ended the day on 215/8, 54 runs adrift of England’s total.

For England James Anderson picked 3/34, Broad picked 2/36 and Curran snapped 2/39, while Bess got one wicket as well.
