Former Australian batsman and cricket pundit Dean Jones do not have much expectation from Pakistan's warm-up performances, as he feels their horrendous scheduling would have an impact on their show in the upcoming two-match Test series against Australia.

Since arriving in Australia, the Men in Green have played a T20 practice match, three T20 Internationals, a three-day tour match against Australia ‘A’ and currently playing a two-day contest against a Cricket Australia XI, but Jones feels that’s insufficient preparation for the Test series.

Jones wrote in a column in the Sydney Morning Herald on Saturday (November 16), “I blame Pakistan’s cricket board for their horrendous scheduling of this Test series.”

The commentator continued, “Pakistan has not played a Test match since early January. Do they honestly feel playing a three-day match at night and a two-day match in Perth will get them ready to be competitive against Australia?”

Meanwhile, the Aussie feels that Pakistan’s young pace battery would struggle at the bouncy track of Brisbane due to the lack of preparation, adding: “(The) Test matches will be played in Brisbane and Adelaide and their bounce will be completely different to Perth.”

Jones signed off by saying, “Why didn’t Pakistan schedule a three- or four-day match when their T20 matches against Australia were on in Adelaide or at the Gabba? Pakistan could have easily put together a decent team to take on a stateside while the international T20s were on.”

However, the tourists lost the T20I series but they are in good form in the red-ball games and they would be certainly looking to give a tough challenge to the hosts in the Test series which will get underway from 21 November at The Gabba.
