Travis Head once again made the Adelaide crowd bow to his brilliance as he conjured up yet another century at the venue in the ongoing third Ashes 2025-26 Test between Australia and England. Australia had made 371 runs in the first innings, and England replied with 286 runs.
Ben Stokes top-scored with 83, and Jofra Archer made 51 to rescue England from 168/8 to their final score.
Brydon Carse then dismissed Jake Weatherald for one run, and Josh Tongue accounted for Marnus Labuschagne, but Travis Head continued to haunt the England bowlers. Head began steadily and grew in confidence as the innings progressed.
The turning moment came when he reached 99. Jofra Archer hit a nice length shot outside off, and Head leaned back to cut. The ball soared fast into the gully, where Harry Brook reacted by grabbing it with both hands. For a time, the audience held its breath.
However, Brook failed to hold onto the catch, and the opportunity passed. Archer lowered his head in frustration, while Head smiled heartily and stuck out his tongue, fully aware that he had just been given a lifeline on the verge of a significant milestone.
On the next delivery, Head pounded his way to a hundred, causing Adelaide to erupt. He removed his helmet and kissed the turf at Adelaide Stadium, thanking the stadium for giving him so many runs.

Head has an excellent record at Adelaide with five hundreds and two fifties in nine tests at the venue. He is also only the second batsman to score hundreds in four consecutive tests at this venue. The run began against the West Indies in 2022, when he scored 175 and 38 not out.
That was followed by 119 and 140 in subsequent matches, and this latest undefeated century adds to the legacy. Only Michael Clarke has had a similar streak at the Oval.
Australia ended day three on 271/4 with Head unbeaten on 142 with 13 fours and two sixes, while Alex Carey was not out on 52.
