CWC 2022: Fans furious over BCCI Women's social media account for poor coverage of World Cup

There was no update provided by the BCCI Women's Twitter account during India women's first warm-up match.

India women's team defeated South Africa by 2 runs in their first World Cup warm-up match on Sunday (February 27). Harmanpreet Kaur (114) and Yastika Bhatia (58) ensured India reach a good total with their valuable partnership of 84 runs.

India posted 244/9 after being asked to bat first and in response, South Africa could only manage 242/7 in their 50 overs, with Rajeshwari Gayakwad picking up four wickets.

South Africa needed 6 off 6 delivery and Gayakwad bowled an outstanding last over to defend India's total. Though India eventually won the match, there was confusion regarding the outcome on social media.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) changed the scorecard of the warm-up match multiple times which confused the fans who were following the match. At one stage, the scorecard also suggested that India won the match by one run.

Amid all the chaos, fans were furious over the official Twitter account of the BCCI women which provided no update at all. The last post made on the account was a video of India captain Mithali Raj's media interaction.
