IND v SL 2022: Ishan Kishan ruled out of Third T20I against Sri Lanka

Ishan Kishan was taken to hospital after the second T20I between India and Sri Lanka.

India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has been ruled out of the third T20I against Sri Lanka on Sunday (February 27). He was taken to Fortis hospital in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh after taking a blow on head during the second T20I on Saturday. After spending the night at the hospital, he was discharged in the morning.

BCCI has confirmed, Kishan will miss the last T20I match against Sri Lanka even though the findings of his CT scan are normal. The BCCI medical team will continue to observe Kishan closely for signs of concussion. 

After winning the first two T20I matches, India have already taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the series. Mayank Agarwal is likely to open the innings with Rohit Sharma, as Sanju Samson will be taking over the gloves in the final T20I.

It was during the fourth over of India's run-chase in Dharamshala when a short delivery from Lahiru Kumara hit on Ishan's helmet. The physio immediately ran to check on him and after a close look, he was allowed to continue batting.

Ishan was dismissed two overs later, after scoring 16 off 15. Apart from him, even Sri Lankan batter Dinesh Chandimal was also rushed to the hospital as he incurred a thumb injury while fielding in the second T20I which India won by 7 wickets.
