India women's cricket team fielding coach Abhay Sharma and trainer Naresh Ramdas are set to be reportedly replaced ahead of their Australia tour later this month.

Sharma and Naresh didn’t quarantine themselves along with the 30 players in Bengaluru for India’s multi-format tour of Australia in September-October.

Many were surprised that the two did not enter the Indian women team's bio-bubble on Tuesday evening – the deadline given by the India cricket board (BCCI) and on Thursday (August 12), it emerged that the women’s team will now have the new trainer and fielding coach.

A BCCI official told PTI: “The names of new fielding coach and trainer will be approved shortly.”

Notably, India head coach Ramesh Powar takes care of the bowling department while the former India opener SS Das has retained his position as batting coach since the recent England tour.

India’s fielding improved by leaps and bounds under Sharma who worked with the players extensively and his efforts were hailed by the skippers Harmanpreet Kaur and Mithali Raj in England.

With the U-19 World Cup coming up next year, Sharma is likely to be assigned to work with the junior cricketers having the experience of guiding the junior team to the finals in the last edition in South Africa.
