ENGW v INDW 2021: Sarah Glenn and Freya Davies released from the squad ahead of India Test

India women will take on England women in a Test match at Bristol from June 16.

Sarah Glenn | GettyIndia women are scheduled to take on England women in a multi-format tour which will kick-start with a one-off Test match between the two at Bristol slated to begin from June 16.

The England Cricket Board (ECB) had also announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming home series against India. But, according to the recent announcement, ECB has released pacer Freya Davies and bowling all-rounder Sarah Glenn from the squad.

It is learnt that the duo has been released so that they can take part in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy (RHFT).

Sarah Glenn and Freya Davies have been released from the England Women's Test squad and will both play for their regional teams in this weekend's Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy matches - in preparation for the ODI series that follows,” England cricket wrote on Twitter.

The England women will be taking on India women in a one-off Test match at Bristol, where the visitors will be playing a Test match after seven years.

After the Test match, the two teams will be locking horns in a three-match ODI series beginning on June 27 with the One-Dayers being played at Bristol, Taunton and Worcester.

The ODI series will be followed by a three-match T20I series, scheduled from 9 July.

After the tour, five Indian players, Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma will have an extended stay in the country as they will be participating in the inaugural edition of ‘The Hundred’.
