WI v IND 2019: BCCI announces Indian squad for Test series against West Indies     

India and West Indies to play two Tests under the inaugural ICC Test championship.

India is coming into the Test series off a series win in Australia

After the conclusion of a fairly successful ICC World Cup 2019, the Indian team is preparing itself to face the challenge of the West Indies team in their own backyard.  The Men in Blue will clash in a series of 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs and 2 Test matches starting August 3.

The first two T20I matches will be played in Florida, USA and the third one in Guyana from August 3-6. The three ODI matches will be played in Guyana and Trinidad from August 8-11. And the two Tests will be played in Antigua and Jamaica starting from Aug 22 and Aug 30 respectively.

The Indian team reached the semi-finals of the tournament where they were defeated by New Zealand. Virat Kohli has made himself available for the whole series and all the three formats and will be leading the team as well. 

The Test squad sees the names of Ajinkya Rahane, Umesh Yadav, Ajinkya Rahane and R Ashwin in the team. Rohit Sharma, Wridhhiman Saha, Ishant Sharma, and Mohammad Shami, along with Jasprit Bumrah, who was rested for the limited-overs phase were added to the team, while Shikhar Dhawan failed to make it into the five-day format.
