India women's cricketer Smriti Mandhana has shared her views on the controversial 'Mankading' rule. The unusual way of dismissal has again come into the discussion after a recent incident in the ongoing Women's T20 World Cup.

England’s Katherine Brunt decided not to Mankad South Africa’s Sune Luus despite the match being in a crunch situation. Talking about Mankading, Mandhana said the dismissal is within rules, but there should be a warning first.

“Well, I think it is in the rules of the game, that you can get the batter out. But I think it is good for us to give warning once, or twice maybe,” Mandhana said.

“As a batter, if I keep doing that then the third time I think the bowler has the right to get me out. So that’s what I feel (laughs).”

The dismissal has been in talks ever since R Ashwin mankaded Jos Buttler in the Indian Premier League last year. It got huge attention from around the world and the cricket fraternity was divided into two groups.
