South Africa qualified for their maiden T20 World Cup final as they defeated Afghanistan in the first semi-final of the ongoing event in Trinidad.

Rashid Khan, Afghanistan captain, won the toss and chose to bat first. However, it wasn’t their day as Proteas decimated their batting line up as Azmatullah Omarzai top-scored with 10 runs and the team was skittled out for 56 runs.

Marco Jansen and Tabraiz Shamsi took three wickets each, while Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada took two scalps.

After Nortje had dismissed Omarzai in the 7th over, Rashid Khan came out to bat. Nortje's initial delivery to Rashid was a dot, followed by a wide. Rashid held back to keep Nortje's back of a length delivery, angling in with raw pace, out of play. Nortje immediately addressed Rashid before walking down the track to speak with Markram.

The bowler asked Rashid to return to his crease because he was obstructing the field, or allegedly intentionally hindering a throw or causing hurdles for a fielder.

However, in the 11th over, after the confrontation continued, Nortje had the last laugh. He bowled a good length delivery, which stayed low. Rashid Khan tried to hit the ball, but in nipped back in sharply and uprooted his leg stump.
