India captain Rohit Sharma is known for his witty answers during press conferences and ahead of the important semi-final against England of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, the skipper didn’t disappoint.

India will face England in Guyana in the second semi-final on June 27, 2024, and the winner will face South Africa in the final in Barbados on June 29, Saturday.

India had qualified for the semis after defeating Australia in their last Super 8s stage game in St. Lucia. Rohit Sharma led from the front as he smacked 92 runs with 8 sixes and 7 fours, taking India to 205/5.

Then Indian bowlers restricted Australia to 181/7 despite Travis Head’s blazing 76 runs. Arshdeep Singh took three wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav took 2.

During the press conference ahead of the IND v ENG semi-final, a reporter asked Rohit Sharma what was the biggest takeaway for him after the win against Australia.

Rohit Sharma, in his own style, said that not having to face Australia again in the tournament was a good one.

"There's no more Australian cricket team in this competition," Rohit replied with a big smile.

This led to laughter in the room, as India had lost the WTC final and World Cup final to Australia in 2023, keeping the Men in Blue from winning their first ICC trophy since 2013.
