Veteran India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was not one bit pleased by a certain post that appeared on his X (formerly Twitter) timeline.

Ashwin expressed his displeasure as he tagged X owner Elon Musk in his post, citing that he needs to be able to control what appears on his feed.

It all happened after a Pakistani journalist expressed a bizarre opinion on social media which suggested that the Afghanistan cricket team is not being able to beat India for the fear of losing IPL contracts.

This tweet was made on the day Afghanistan registered a historic 21-run victory over Australia in their T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 match in St Vincent on Sunday (June 23).

Reacting to the social media post, Ashwin wrote: “I can’t tell you what to do but I should certainly have the right to decide who enters my house. My timeline my decision.”

The win against Australia has put Afghanistan in contention for a spot in the semi-finals. While Australia will take on the rampaging Indian team in their final Super 8 fixture, Afghanistan will face Bangladesh.

The Afghans will need a favour from India to beat Australia whereas they will have to win over Bangladesh to seal their spot in the semi-finals for the first time.
