India was asked to bat first by Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and thanks to fifty by Hardik Pandya and contributions from Rohit Sharma (23), Virat Kohli (37) and Rishabh Pant (36) and Shivam Dube (34) took India to 196/5 in 20 overs.

In reply, Captain Shanto (40), Tanzid Hasan (29), and Rishad Hossain (24) were the main scorers for the Tigers, but they could only post 146/8 in 20 overs.

Meanwhile in the aftermath of the encounter, former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was slammed on social media by cricket fans for his hypocrisy and bias towards Mumbai players, in this case, Rohit Sharma.

Rohit Sharma was in an aggressive mood and smashed three boundaries and a solitary six to score 23 runs in just 11 balls before being dismissed by Shakib Al Hasan.

As Rohit made his way back to the dressing room, Gavaskar, who was in the commentary box, said: “For someone who has hit 10 runs in 2 balls would not go for a big shot, but for Rohit Sharma, it's all about the team.”

On the other hand, Kohli tried to stick around with a patient 37-run knock off 28 balls before being deceived by a slower delivery from Tanzim Hasan Sakib.

Following Kohli's dismissal, Gavaskar was rather furious, saying: "What was he thinking? Should have played inside out."

These two varied reactions by Gavaskar to dismissals of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli didn’t sit well with the cricket fans on social media. They took Gavaskar to task for his biased views.
