Virat Kohli looked in his element during India’s second Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup 2024 against Bangladesh in Antigua on Saturday (June 22).
Opening the innings, the star batter played with positive intent right from the outset. Having smashed one boundary and three sixes, Kohli was looking set to hit his first half-century of this T20 World Cup. However, Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib produced a brilliant slower ball to dismiss him for 37 off 28 balls.
The right-arm quick deceived Kohli with this delivery as the latter missed his shot and found his stumps rattled.
After taking the prized scalp, Tanzim pulled off an animated celebration and also gave Virat Kohli a fiery send-off.
Following the dismissal, Suryakumar Yadav came to the crease and smoked the first delivery for a six over the fine leg fence. However, Tanzim bounced back to dismiss Surya in the very next ball, caught behind the wicket. It all happened in the ninth over of India’s innings.
