Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir made an impressive return to international cricket in the last few months. He had retired from the Pakistan team four years ago but took back his retirement for the T20 World Cup 2024.
He did amazingly well in the T20 World Cup, especially against India recently, but controversy has not left him.
Notably, Amir was convicted for spot-fixing in 2010 in a Test between Australia and Pakistan at the Lord’s. He was banned for five years and spent a few months in prison as well.
He returned to cricket in 2016 and despite some memorable performances like in the final of the 2017 Champions Trophy against India, the fans have not forgotten how he betrayed the game.
The veteran pacer's integrity has been often put into question by former players and fans of the Pakistan cricket team. Having said that, a fan called out Amir for the same amid the ongoing T20 World Cup in the Americas.
In a viral video, a man can be heard yelling the word "fixer" while Amir was walking near the boundary line at the Nassau County International Stadium in New York.
