Rishabh Pant will feature in T20 World Cup 2024 for India | BCCIRishabh Pant is set to make his India comeback as he was named in the 15-member squad for the t20 World Cup 2024. Pant had last donned the India jersey on the tour of Bangladesh in December 2022 during the Test series.

He was not part of the limited overs part of that tour and later in the month met with a horrific car accident that led to him undergoing multiple treatments and surgeries. It took him more than 14 months to get healthy and Pant made his cricketing return in the IPL 2024. He captained the Delhi Capitals and batted and kept wickets throughout the tournament.

With a new lease on life, Pant can’t wait to return to international cricket, something that looked a daunting prospect some months ago.

“Getting back on the field with the Indian jersey on, it’s a different feeling altogether and this is something I missed a lot. I think seeing the teammates and meeting them again and spending time, having fun with them, enjoying having conversations with them really enjoying,” said Pant in a video shared by BCCI.

Pant spoke about the importance of the T20 World Cup for the USA and also revealed how he’s getting used to the conditions.

We’re used to playing in different countries but this is a different prospect. It has opened up a different channel for sport because I feel cricket is growing around the world and getting in a country like the US and getting the exposure here would be nice for cricket as well as USA cricket I guess. New pitches are there everything is getting set up, just getting used to the conditions I think the sun is a little bit more brighter over here so just getting used to it. Hopefully, I make it count and make it more better from here,” he added.

Pant looked his vintage best during the IPL where he finished with 446 runs from 13 innings as Delhi Capitals’ highest run-scorer. The southpaw averaged 40.54, scored at a strike rate of 155.40, and notched three fifties.
