The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the schedule for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 on Friday, January 5. The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is set to be held in the West Indies and USA from June 1–29, with the opening match between the USA and Canada.

India is placed in Group A with Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and the United States in the T20 World Cup 2024. The Men in Blue will begin their campaign against Ireland on June 5.

India will then face arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9 in the tournament. Well, after the announcement of the mega event’s schedule, fans went berserk at the official broadcasters of the T20 World Cup, Star Sports, for using Hardik Pandya's image as Indian captain.

Well, Rohit Sharma is still officially Team India’s captain in all three formats; however, there is no clarity as to whether the Indian opener will return to T20Is to lead the team in the tournament.

But Star Sports decided to go ahead with Hardik’s image in their promo for the India versus Pakistan clash and even schedule posters for the showpiece event. Notably, Pandya was leading Team India in the shortest format after the 2022 T20 World Cup, and is likely to get the honor in the upcoming showpiece event.

However, there are several reports suggesting that Rohit may return to the format, so the graphics posted by the official broadcasters confused some fans while leaving some of them angry on social media.
