The mega clash between India and Pakistan in next year’s ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is reportedly going to be played in New York. The USA are co-hosts of the ICC tournament along with the West Indies.
Reports have stated that the India v Pakistan clash will be played in a pop-up stadium on the outskirts of New York. A 34,000-seated temporary stadium will be constructed for the tournament in New York.
The match has been scheduled in New York because, according to the most recent census data, approximately 7,11,000 Indians and approximately 1,00,000 persons of Pakistani descent reside in the city.
Although the time difference between Delhi and New York is 9.5 hours, some India matches will be planned to serve Indian television audiences.
In the United States, just three sites will be used: Central Broward Park in Florida, Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas, and Eisenhower Park on Long Island, some 25 miles from downtown Manhattan. Some changes to the schedule are still possible.
On the other hand, England, the defending champions, and Australia, the ODI champions, will play all of their group-stage matches in the Caribbean.
England's games in their initial five-team group and the Super 8 round (assuming they qualify) are expected to take place in the British tourist hotspots of Barbados, Antigua, and St Lucia. The Australians will, however, visit some of the region's other destinations, including St Vincent, Trinidad, and Guyana.
Over the last two weeks, ICC inspectors have been touring Caribbean sites, culminating this week in Guyana, and while they discovered that some renovation and extension are still required, no major issues have been discovered.
The T20 World Cup 2024 final's location has yet to be determined, however, it is expected to take place in Barbados, which previously hosted the finals of the 2007 50-over World Cup and the 2010 T20 tournament.
