Former Indian cricketer Mohammed Kaif predicted that Rohit Sharma will have a great outing against England in the second semi-final of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022, to be played at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday (November 10), despite having been out of touch with the bat in the event.

The experienced opener has not made any big contributions as a batter in helping Team India reach the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022, barring his fifty against the Netherlands.

However, despite the Indian skipper’s struggle with the bat, Kaif believes that England should not take Rohit lightly, as he becomes a dangerous batter in pressure situations and can prove to be an X-factor for Team India in Adelaide.

Notably, Rohit hasn't even reached the 100-run mark in the T20 World Cup 2022, whereas Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav are among the leading run scorers in the tournament with above 200 runs each, but Kaif predicted that the Indian skipper would play a match-winning knock against England.

Mohammed Kaif was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda: “Rohit’s bat has not been talking much but I think that he is a big-match player. He likes playing against England and I will not be surprised at all if he scores big in that semi-final. He has that X-Factor, whenever there is pressure, he plays a match-winning knock.”

Kaif signed off by saying, “I consider Rohit Sharma a very good player, but the time has come where the next two matches are the most important ones. The next match is the biggest one for Rohit Sharma as captain, he has had a great record since taking over as T20 captain. The value he has brought in with his captaincy is immense.”
