T20 World Cup 2022: “I am in a happy place, don't want to compare it with past,” says Virat Kohli after heroics vs Bangladesh

Riding on Kohli’s unbeaten half-century, the Men in Blue posted 184/6 on the board and then restricted Bangladesh to 145/6 in a curtailed second innings comprising 16 overs.

Speaking after the match, Kohli said it was a pretty close game but insisted he is in a happy space right now.

“Pretty close game. Not as close as we would have liked it to be. A good day with the bat. When I went in there was a bit of pressure. I didn't want little mistakes to curb my instincts. I am in a happy place. I don't want to compare it with the past,” quoted Virat Kohli at the post-match presentation ceremony after earning another Player-of-the-Match award.

The 33-year-old enjoys playing on Australian pitches as one can see his fabulous batting record Down Under. No wonder, he was keen to play the T20 World Cup in Australia.

“As soon as I knew the World Cup is in Australia, I was grinning from ear to ear. Good cricketing shots will be the key here is what I know. Hitting through the line is what I do in every format. It is just an extension for me,” he added.

The former India captain also expressed his love for the Adelaide Oval, where he has scored plenty of runs in all forms of the game.

"I absolutely love playing in this ground. Right from the nets at the back, as soon as I enter, it makes me feel at home. That knock at MCG was meant to be, but when I come here, it's like I'm meant to come to Adelaide and enjoy my batting," said Kohli.

With this victory, Team India jumped to top of the Group 2 standings. They will face Zimbabwe in their last group match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on November 6.
