India and Pakistan competed in a nail-biting match on October 23 in the T20 World Cup 2022 and it was Virat Kohli’s amazingly exquisite display of batting, where he scored 82* off just 53 balls that won India the match from the jaws of defeat.

The star batter looked largely in control in his stellar knock of 62* off 44 balls against the Netherlands on Thursday (October 27), pushing his team's total to 179/2.

These knocks have convinced many, including former Pakistan seamer Mohammad Amir, that the "King" has reclaimed his throne.

Amir remarked that Kohli is the best batter of the modern era and can't be compared to anyone. He praised the veteran batter’s ability to deliver under high-pressure situations.

"I've told this in many interviews, why do I say Virat Kohli is my favorite? He is the best in this era. He just cannot be compared! It's because I have bowled to him as well and the level of temperament, the mindset he carries towards the game, his work ethic, and the way he handles the pressure, I don't think in this time any batsman can handle this sort of pressure as he did," he was quoted as saying in a video shared by ICA Sports.

"People begin comparing him with different batsmen. He just does not have any comparisons. And yes, this has been one of his best innings in T20 (82* against Pakistan) and he has said it himself. Out of nowhere, he just took the game away from Pakistan," he stated.

“And this is the recognition of a big player, people say he wasn't in form, but a big player is that who steps up in high-pressure situations, and what Virat did, only he could have done!" the former cricketer added.

The Men in Blue currently hold the top spot in Group 2 with 2 wins in as many games. They will next take on South Africa on Sunday (October 30) in Perth.
