Over a billion Indians will never forget the moment when Misbah ul Haq, the former captain of Pakistan, mistimed a scoop shot and the ball ended up in Sreesanth's hands at short fine leg. Team India won the inaugural T20 World Cup thanks to this catch.

Even after more than 15 years, Misbah, who retired from the game in 2017, still regrets playing that shot.

Legendary pacer Wasim Akram recently asked Misbah why Pakistan batters don't play the reverse lap and the latter came up with a hilarious reply that left everyone in the panel in splits.

“After my shot in the 2007 T20 WC final, they all stopped,” he said.

“No one remembers the 15 fours that I played before but everyone remembers that shot. People don’t forget,” Misbah added.

Here’s a clip of the conversation:

In the 2007 T20 World Cup final, India posted 157/5 owing to a batting masterclass from Gautam Gambhir (75 off 54 balls) and some fireworks from Rohit Sharma (30* off 16 balls) in the slog overs.

The Men in Green found themselves tottering at 6/77 in the 12th over when Mishabh’s valiant fight took the match into the last over of the match. However, Pakistan eventually fell short of the target by just 5 runs.

In the T20 World Cup 2022, the two sides will square off at the iconic MCG on October 23.
