"I’ve told my team that we need to win": Ramiz Raja warns Pakistan losing T20 WC 2022 is not an option

Babar Azam led side is 2-1 down in 7-match T20I series against England at home.

Pakistan team I GettyThe T20 World Cup 2022 is just around the corner and all teams are eyeing the trophy. It will be held in Australia from Oct 16 to Nov 13, 2022. One of those teams is Pakistan, who reached the semi-finals in the 2021 T20 World Cup last year, losing to eventual champions Australia.

The Men in Green, led by Babar Azam, had also lost the final of the recent Asia Cup 2022 in UAE to Sri Lanka.

Currently, Pakistan is facing England in a series of 7-T20Is and are 1-2 down after three matches. Pakistan Cricket Team suffered a massive loss in the 3rd T20I match against England. The Men in Green lost the match by 63 runs which is a very big number in T20I Cricket.

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ramiz Raja reacted to the performance of the Pakistani team and warned the Pakistan side that losing the T20 World Cup 2022 is not an option for them.

IND v AUS 2022: "Don't write him off" - Sreesanth backs Bhuvneshwar Kumar to do well in the upcoming matches

"I’ve told my team that we need to win. It’s as simple as that because people want us to win all the time. So, if they lose, I just can’t take it. I’m a bad loser. I feel like hitting people around me when I see Pakistan losing. I am a very terrible watcher, actually. I get scolded at home because I offend everybody completely." Ramiz Raja was quoted saying on Geo TV.

"This is the only sport that contributes to bringing smiles back on people’s faces. It lifts your nation’s morale." he added.

Pakistan team is dependent on the opening duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan and their middle order woes continue. It’s a kind of wake-up call for Pakistan and if they continue to play in the same manner then they would not be in a good position.

It’s high time that the middle order fires for Pakistan else they would get knocked out in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Pakistan will play India in their opening match on October 23 in MCG.
