England has recently suffered a major blow with their limited-overs skipper Jos Buttler sustaining an untimely injury, which can force them to change their plans for the T20 World Cup 2022.
However, Buttler is hopeful he can fully recover from a calf injury ahead of the Pakistan tour, saying he will do everything in his capacity to be fit for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
Notably, the 31-year-old suffered the calf injury last week in the ongoing The Hundred 2022, where he was leading Manchester Originals, and it ruled him out of the remainder of the 100-ball tournament.
The skipper expressed his frustration over the same but is aiming to return to action for the historic tour of England to Pakistan for a seven-match T20I series, starting on September 20.
Jos Buttler told Sky Sports: “It is frustrating to miss some cricket, I have really been enjoying playing. I actually did the same thing last year in my other calf so I had an idea what was coming.
I am going to be unavailable for the remainder of The Hundred, unfortunately. Obviously, we have got a big winter coming up with the World Cup on the horizon, we go to Pakistan before that as well.”
He signed off by saying, “I think I have to take it as it comes a little bit in the first few weeks and just manages that and hopefully maybe the back end of Pakistan and especially get fully fit for the T20 World Cup.”
