New Zealand lost yet another final after Australia's outstanding display of batting in the T20 World Cup 2021 summit clash on Sunday (November 14). The Aussies chased down 173 runs with 8 wickets in hand and 7 balls left in their innings.

All-rounder Jimmy Neesham, who played an important cameo in the semi-final to defeat pre-tournament favorites England, has already started the countdown for the next T20 World Cup. The next mega ICC event is scheduled to be played in October and November 2022 and it will be hosted by Australia.

The Kiwis had defeated India in the T20 World Cup 2021 Super 12 to boost their chances for the semi-final after suffering a loss against Pakistan. They later went on to win all their remaining matches to finish second in the group; leaving India out of the race.

Even when everyone gave them very little chance against England, the Kane Williamson-led side fought their way through to the final. However, their campaign ended with one more loss in the ICC event final match.

New Zealand have won the ICC World Test Championship earlier this year by beating India at Southampton. But they lost to England in the 2019 ODI World Cup final, and against Australia in the 2015 ODI World Cup final.
