Australia bags INR 12 crores after winning T20 World Cup 2021; India settles for consolatory amount

India failed to go past the Super 12s stage and won 3 matches in league stage | GettyAaron Finch-led Australian team has bagged a whopping sum of INR 12 crores after winning the T20 World Cup 2021. This was their maiden T20I title win and they defeated New Zealand by 8 wickets in the final.

While Australia got a cash prize of INR  12 crore apart from the glittering trophy after the win, while runners-up New Zealand were given INR  6 crore. The ICC had already announced the prize money for the tournament. Apart from the winner and runner-up, both the semi-finalists Pakistan and England got INR 3 crore each.

On the other hand, any team of the Super 12 stage got a reward of INR 52 lakh and the teams that lost in Round 1 got a reward of about INR 29.76 lakh. Apart from this, the ICC also gave bonus prizes to the teams. 

The team that won each match in Super 12 got INR 29.76 lakh and the team that won the match in Round 1 also got the same prize money. 

The Indian team failed to make it past the super 12s stage and won 3 games in the league round, getting total prize money of INR 1.41 crore in the World Cup 2021.
