Virat Kohli's T20I captaincy ended on a high | GettyTeam India registered a thumping nine-wicket victory over Namibia in their last Super 12 match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on November 8.

Opting to bowl first, the Men in Blue restricted Namibia to 132/8 in 20 overs. The spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja (3-16) and R Ashwin (3-20) starred with the ball, claiming three wickets each while pacer Jasprit Bumrah returned with impressive figures of 2 for 19 in his four overs.

It was a listless batting performance from Namibia as no one even managed to touch the 30-run mark. David Wiese top scored with 25-ball 26.

In reply, India rode on half-centuries from Rohit Sharma (56 off 37 balls) and KL Rahul (54* off 36 balls) to overhaul the target with 28 balls to spare. Suryakumar Yadav also made a handy contribution of 25 not out during the successful chase.

Despite the win, Indian team finished the Super 12 stage in the third position and couldn’t make it to the semi-final.

Cricket experts on Twitter lauded Virat Kohli and company for their fabulous outing to sign off the underwhelming campaign.
