Team India will play their last Super 12 match against Namibia on Monday (November 8). They are already out of the T20 World Cup 2021 after New Zealand beat Afghanistan on Sunday to take the second spot on the points table.

India skipper Virat Kohli has already announced his decision to quit T20I captaincy after the T20 World Cup, and the current support staff of the Indian team will also end their tenure after the tournament.

Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar feels Kohli could offer Rohit Sharma to lead the team in their last match of the tournament and start a new trend.

"If Virat Kohli wants to sort of start a new trend, the inevitable future in T20 cricket, he could maybe offer the leadership straightaway to Rohit Sharma in this final game. Then Rohit Sharma may not be rested and play as captain," he said on Instagram.

Rohit is currently the top contender for the captaincy role after Kohli's stint ends. There is another T20 World Cup coming up next year in Australia and he could lead the team in the tournament.

Further in his video, Manjrekar also suggested three changes in the Indian team for the dead-rubber against Namibia. He said India could try Bhuvneshwar Kumar again for this match.

The cricketer-turned-commentator also suggested leg-spinner Rahul Chahar, and Ishan Kishan into the playing eleven for their final Super 12 match.

"So the immediate thought would be Bhuvneshwar Kumar coming back in just to look at whether he's still got something left to offer in T20 cricket in T20s and may rest somebody like a Bumrah. Mohammed Shami can be rested as well.

"Rahul Chahar, unfortunately, hasn't got a single game, he should be played. Ishan Kishan gets a match and I would like to see Rohit Sharma being rested," he said.
