T20 World Cup 2021: Cricket fraternity reacts as Jos Buttler’s 101* takes England to 163/4 v Sri Lanka

If England win, they qualify for the semis.

Morgan and Buttler added 112 runs for 4th wicket for England | GettyEngland and Sri Lanka clashed in the 29th match of the T20 World Cup 2021 in Sharjah. Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bowl first as both teams went unchanged.

Wanindu Hasaranga bowled beautifully to pick 3/21 in his 4 overs which included the scalps of Jason Roy (9), Jonny Bairstow (0), and Eoin Morgan (40). However, it was Jos Buttler who not only kept the innings from imploding but also upped the ante at the right time as England was struggling a bit.

Morgan and Buttler added 112 runs for the 4th wicket as Morgan found some form hitting 3 sixes and 1 four in his 36-ball 40 knocks, as England made 116 in their last 10 overs.

But Buttler just took the cake with his amazing knock as hit a six off the last ball of the innings to complete his ton, which came in 67 balls with 6 sixes and 6 fours. England finished on 163/4 in 20 overs.

The cricket fraternity was all praises for the England keeper-batter as his maiden T20I century provided England with a very defendable total on a Sharjah pitch that is difficult to bat on.
