Pakistan's Asif Ali hit four sixes off Afghanistan pacer Karim Janat to secure a win for his side on Friday (October 29) in the Super 12 stage encounter of T20 World Cup 2021. Pakistan needed 24 runs off the final two overs and Asif smashed four sixes in the penultimate over, taking them over the line with an over left.
After winning six, Ali recreated MS Dhoni's 'gunshot' celebration as Pakistan won the match by 5 wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Fans compared the celebration with Dhoni, who did it in 2005 after smashing a hundred against Sri Lanka in Jaipur in 2005.
Ali scored 25* runs off 7 deliveries, and this was his second cameo in the tournament which helped Pakistan win the match. Against New Zealand, he had scored unbeaten 27 runs in 12 balls as they won the match by 5 wickets.
After winning three consecutive matches in the tournament, Pakistan lead the Group 2 points table with 6 points and a net run rate of +0.638.
