India's veteran cricketer Harbhajan Singh has slammed Pakistan pacer, Mohammad Amir after his Twitter spat which turned ugly. Harbhajan said he was surprised to see Amir stepping in between his banter with long-time friend and former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar.

Amir was trying to get on Harbhajan's nerves after Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets in the 2021 T20 World Cup. He posted a video of Harbhajan getting hit for sixes by ex-Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi to poke him.

The Twitter fight only got worse as Harbhajan soon brought up Amir's spot-fixing incident to shut him down. Clarifying his stance on the exchange of tweets, the 41-year-old said on his YouTube channel, "India-Pakistan is a high-pressure game and a lot depends on the result. On that day, the Pakistani side played very well. They beat us in all departments. We gratefully accepted it. The talk is over now."

Harbhajan further added, "Before that me and Shoaib Akhtar, we both work for media, I support my team, he supports his team which is fair enough. Banter between me and him has been going on for many years. In that another person came in between, Mohammad Amir. I want to know who he is. Because me and Shoaib have a very old friendship. We know each other for many years. We have done shows together too."

Amir had taken a jibe at Harbhajan and asked him if he broke his TV after India's defeat or not? To which, the India cricketer reminded him of a winning six he had hit in the 2010 Asia Cup against Pakistan.

"In between all this Amir puts a tweet asking me If I broke my TV, I said no I did not break any TV. I tweeted him the six I hit him saying that might have landed on your TV. He replied I was busy watching the video of Shahid Afridi hitting you for sixes. In between all this he put another tweet and then even I tweeted there was a big no-ball in Lords, how did that happen. We know how it happened and what he did."

"I do not want to get into the mud as I will dirty myself only and Amir does not have the status or level that I should talk to him. The more I talk to him I will lower myself. He is a disgrace. He put a black spot on world cricket. The person who sold cricket, sold his country, and sold his integrity. He was looking to earn money at Lords by bowling an intentional no-ball. I should not have reacted to him only," added Harbhajan.
