Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan took a dig at India after the Indian cricket team suffered a crushing 10-wicket defeat against Men in Green in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 while emphasizing the importance of improving ties between the two arch-rivals.
The former Pakistan captain has stressed the need for improving the relationship with India, but cheekily said that it was "not a good time" for such a conversation after his country’s historic victory over Team India in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
He was speaking at the Pakistan-Saudi Investment Forum in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The Pakistan PM also mentioned that there has been only one issue between the two countries – the Kashmir issue – for a long time and urged them to resolve the issue like "civilized neighbors."
His comments came after Pakistan crushed India by 10 wickets in their T20 World Cup 2021 opener on Sunday, October 24 in Dubai, UAE. Pakistan will next face New Zealand on October 26.
According to the Dawn newspaper, Khan said: “We have excellent relations with China, but if somehow we improve our relationship with India - I know after last night's thrashing by the Pakistan team in the cricket match, it's not a very good time to talk about improving relations with India.”
Noteworthy, while Khan was seen taking a dig at India, whereas Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni displayed the “Spirit of Cricket” as the duo interacted and congratulated Pakistan players despite getting drubbed by 10 wickets in the high-voltage clash in the tournament.
