October 24th saw the end of the historic unbeaten streak of India over Pakistan in World Cup history, as after 12 consecutive defeats, Pakistan finally earned their first win over the arch-rivals and in some style by 10 wickets in Dubai.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and opted to bowl first citing the dew factor and easier batting conditions in the second half at the venue. His decision was proven right by Shaheen Shah Afridi as he dismissed the Indian openers Rohit Sharma (0) and KL Rahul (3) in his first two overs with couple of lethal deliveries.

Indian captain Virat Kohli batted well thereafter to score 57 and with some support from Rishabh Pant (39) managed to get the team to a fighting total of 151/7. Afridi dismissed the Indian captain in his final over to finish with figures of 3/31.

In reply, Babar Azam (68*) and Mohammad Rizwan (79*) put on an unbroken opening partnership of 152 to seal a 10-wicket win for their team and end the jinx of having never beaten India in a World Cup match.

After the match, Virat Kohli arrived for his press conference and one of the questions by a Pakistani reporter left him in a state of shock. The reporter strangely questioned him about vice captain Rohit Sharma's selection citing Ishan Kishan's half-century in the warm-up game against England.

Kohli, who was taken aback by the question about his deputy, sarcastically asked the reporter to tell him whether Rohit should be dropped or just tell him what he has to say to create a controversy.
