Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer posted his playing XI for Team India ahead of the much-awaited match against Pakistan on Sunday (October 24) in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Jaffer, who is famous for his witty tweets, didn't come up with the names straightforwardly.
Sharing the playing eleven on Twitter, Jaffer shared pictures of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise logos. He left it to the fans to guess the names of the players who he would wish to be in the playing XI for Team India.
"This is my team for tomorrow. What's yours?", wrote the Punjab Kings batting coach on Twitter. He named Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul for the opening spot, followed by captain Virat Kohli.
Jaffer also picked Shardul Thakur and Varun Chakravarthy in his playing eleven, leaving out R Ashwin. Even Bhuvneshwar Kumar couldn't find a spot in his playing eleven for the high-voltage clash.
Hardik Pandya, Surykumar Yadav, and Rishabh Pant are the other batting options in the playing eleven. With Hardik not bowling these days, Ravindra Jadeja is the only recognized all-rounder.
Jaffer's picks for India's playing eleven: Rohit Sharma (Mumbai Indians), KL Rahul (Punjab Kings), Virat Kohli (Royal Challengers Bangalore), Rishabh Pant (Delhi Capitals), Suryakumar Yadav (Mumbai Indians), Hardik Pandya (Mumbai Indians), Ravindra Jadeja (Chennai Super Kings), Shardul Thakur (Chennai Super Kings), Mohammed Shami (Punjab Kings), Jasprit Bumrah (Mumbai Indians), Varun Chakravarthy (Kolkata Knight Riders)
Team India haven't lost to Pakistan yet in the ICC World Cup tournaments. They will look to continue the domination with a win in Dubai. But Babar Azam-led side can't be taken lightly, especially in the shortest format.
