Former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram feels that Suryakumar Yadav could be the game-changer for Team India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 as he can play on both sides of the wicket equally well.

Every Indian fan might be aware of the success story of Suryakumar Yadav. Despite scoring truckloads of runs in the domestic circuit and IPL, the right-handed batsmen failed to make cut into the Indian squad.

However, he finally won the trust of selectors earlier this year when he was selected for the white-ball series against England at home. The Mumbaikar started his international career by hitting six on the first ball and went on to score 57 runs in his debut T20I innings and then later played a crucial role for his team in the series.

Suryakumar then was one of the most promising batsmen in the series against Sri Lanka and with his ability to play unorthodox shots and score runs in all the parts of the ground, he can take the game away from the opposition in quick succession of time.

Though he didn’t have a great run in IPL 2021, in the last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) he smashed a sparkling half-century and then in the warmup game against Australia he remained unbeaten and took his team home.

Bowling great, Wasim Akram said that Suryakumar Yadav will be an impactful player for Team India in the T20 World Cup as he takes the momentum with him and is a game-changer.

"A batsman who will be an impact player in the T20 World Cup is Suryakumar Yadav of India. He plays both on the sides and plays well in pressure situations. He takes the momentum with him and is a game-changer," Wasim Akram said in a video posted on Koo.

Wasim Akram said that for Australia Glenn Maxwell will be an impactful player as he’s very dangerous while Liam Livingstone will play the same role for England. He added that for Pakistan the duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan will play a crucial role.

"For Australia, it will be Glenn Maxwell as he is a dangerous player and for England, it will Liam Livingstone. I feel for Pakistan it will Babar and Rizwan. Some excellent batsmen are going to tee off during this T20 World Cup, Should make for some great viewing, bowlers better watch out for this list of batsmen,” he said.

Suryakumar Yadav is likely to bat at No.4 when Team India takes on Pakistan in their first game of T20 World Cup 2021 on 24th October.
