T20 World Cup 2021: "Great news for India they got runs, but where do they play," Pollock on Kishan and Suryakumar

Ishan Kishan scored a fantastic 84 whereas Suryakumar Yadav got to 82 against SRH.

Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan | BCCI/IPLDespite a 42-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday (8 October), the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) failed to qualify for playoffs in this year’s edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021).

Opting to bat first, Rohit Sharma and Co. posted a huge total of 235/9 with Ishan Kishan (84) and Suryakumar Yadav (82) scoring the majority of the runs.

The former South Africa cricketer Shaun Pollock was impressed with the MI batters Kishan and Yadav who are also a part of India’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE and Oman.

The way he went about it was very calculated. It was a great understanding of how you can manipulate the ball, get the ball into certain areas to pick up boundaries. You don't have to overdo it. It wasn't bludgeoning,Pollock told Cricbuzz.

The ace all-rounder then lauded MI for promoting the explosive left-hand batter Ishan Kishan up the order as it is the best position for the youngster.

They also got the job of Ishan Kishan right. I think he is better suited to the first six overs where he goes at the ball, if he makes a mistake, it still clears the field and he can go on in his merry way,” the 48-year-old said.

It's great news for India that they got runs but do any of these two plays? Where do they play?” he further added.

As far as Team India is concerned, they will be locking horns against England and Australia in warm-up matches ahead of beginning their T20 World Cup 2021 campaign against archrivals Pakistan on 24 October (Sunday) at Dubai.
