IPL 2021: David Warner approached by multiple IPL teams for next season – Report

Warner was dropped from SRH's playing XI on six occasions this season.

David Warner | BCCI/IPLThere are enough indications that Australian batter David Warner won’t turn up for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Despite leading the franchise to the IPL title win in 2016, Warner was at the receiving end of some harsh decisions taken by the SRH management this year. He was sacked as captain midway through the first phase of IPL 2021 and was left out of the playing XI on six occasions.

Moreover, the southpaw has made some social media posts in the last few weeks, which clearly suggests that he and Sunrisers are parting ways ahead of the IPL 2022.

Amidst all this, a report published in Fox Sports.com.au claims that Warner has already been approached by multiple teams for the next season.

According to the report, franchises have been shocked by SRH's treatment of Warner and want to pounce on the opportunity to rope him in.

SRH On Friday (October 8) played their last league match of IPL 2021 and just before the game, Warner shared a post on Instagram, almost confirming that he will be leaving the franchise.

“Thank You for the memories created. To all the fans, you have been a driving force for our team always to give 100%. I can’t thank you all enough for the support shown. It’s been a great ride. My family and I are going to miss you all!! #respect #cricket #hyderabad One last effort today,” he wrote.

David Warner had a rare bad IPL season with the bat as he scored only 195 runs in 8 matches at an average of 24.47 this year. The left-hander joined SRH in 2014 and surpassed the 500 run-mark every season except this edition and 2018, when he didn’t feature in the cash-rich league because of a ball-tampering ban.
