Hardik Pandya starred with both the bat and the ball as India defeated England by 7 runs in a high-scoring thriller in the second semifinal of the T20 World Cup 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 5.
Pandya first scored 27 runs in 12 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes with the bat and then took the wicket of Phil Salt and bowled an extremely economic over in the death overs when Jacob Bethell was going after leather. Pandya returned with figures of 1/38 in his four overs.
Meanwhile, his sweet interaction with his son Agastya and legendary MS Dhoni has gone viral on social media.
The video shows Pandya gazing up at the stands to welcome Dhoni, who is watching from the gallery as supporters cheer. At the moment, his girlfriend, Mahieka Sharma, brought his son Agastya next to Dhoni, resulting in a touching sight.

In response, Jacob Bethell hammered 105 with 8 fours and 7 sixes, keeping England in the hunt and getting support from Will Jacks (35) and Jos Buttler (25). However, England fell 7 runs short in the end, as Jasprit Bumrah bowled an excellent two overs at the death.
