Former Pakistani speedster Mohammad Amir has continued with his anti-India stance and has predicted that India will not play in the final of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026. India will clash with England in the second semi-final on March 5 in Mumbai for a chance to play in the summit clash.
Amir had previously stated that India would not advance to the semifinals of the T20 World Cup. However, India silenced naysayers with a dominant five-wicket victory against the West Indies in their virtual quarterfinal on Sunday at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Powered by Sanju Samson's unbeaten 97, India advanced to the semifinals in style. But Amir has revived the controversy with another forceful comment, claiming that India would still not make the final.
"India complete cricket nahi khel raha. India final nahi khelega (India is not playing complete cricket). India will not play the final). My semifinal analysis was correct, but Sanju Samson played really good cricket. Still, I feel India is not playing complete cricket yet; apart from Jasprit Bumrah, not a single bowler is in form. Just look at their batting; in almost every match, they keep suffering collapses. The semifinal against England will be a good contest, but I am sure India will not play the final,” Amir stated on the sidelines of a Pakistani show.

India’s win over West Indies secured them a record-equaling sixth semifinal appearance in T20 World Cup history, matching Pakistan (2007, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2021, 2022) and England (2010, 2016, 2021, 2022, 2024, 2026).
This is also the third consecutive time India and England will clash in a T20 World Cup semi-final, with England winning in 2022 and India coming out as victors in 2024.
