Former Pakistani cricketers Mohammad Amir and Ahmed Shehzad were seen laughing and smiling on a TV show as the host mocked Pakistani cricketers Babar Azam, Ahmed Shehzad, and Shadab Khan after the Men in Green were defeated by India in their T20 World Cup 2026 game on February 15.
The match proved to be a one-sided affair. India, asked to bat by Salman Ali Agha, posted 175/7 in 20 overs, thanks to a scintillating 77 by Ishan Kishan and 32 by Suryakumar Yadav. In response, only Usman Khan could show some resistance to Indian bowlers, scoring 44 runs, as Pakistan was bowled out for 114 and lost the game by 61 runs.
Babar Azam managed just 16 runs, while Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz could not make a significant impact.
After this huge defeat, which put Pakistan’s net run rate in the negative, Pakistani comedian Tabish Hashmi poked fun at the team’s performance on live television on the show Haarna Mana Hai. He mocked Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Shadab Khan while highlighting the routine nature of Pakistan’s losses against India.
This led to Mohammad Amir and Ahmed Shehzad laughing and smiling at the way Hashmi was mocking the Pakistani team and its performance, with jibes at Babar, Shaheen, and Shadab.
“News is what is unexpected; something that happens repeatedly isn’t really news. Today was exactly one of those days. What Mohammad Amir, Rashid Latif, and Ahmed Shehzad were all predicting—it happened. India defeated Pakistan. On this, let’s give a round of applause. We wanted to show India that you might think we are upset, but we are used to it. Nothing has happened to us. Let’s give a round of applause for Shaheen’s performance. Shadab deserves applause for his efforts. And from Ahmed Bhai’s side, there should be applause for Babar as well,” Tabish said on the show Haarna Mana Hai.
India has qualified for the Super Eights with this win and will face the Netherlands in their final Group A game on February 18. Pakistan will next face Namibia on the same date as well, but before the IND v NED game.
