India skipper Shubman Gill took a sensational, full-length diving one-handed catch at cover off Kuldeep Yadav's bowling to dismiss Kamindu Mendis for 14 runs on Day 3 of the Galle Test against Sri Lanka.

During the 17th over of Sri Lanka’s first innings, Mendis tried to hit a boundary through the covers but Gill flew full length to his left to intercept the ball with one hand, grabbing an outrageous catch out of thin air.

Kamindu Mendis' wicket left Sri Lanka reeling at 59/4 in their first innings, trailing the visitors by 394 runs.

Coming to the match, India’s first innings folded for 462 early in the morning session on Day 3. Devdutt Padikkal stole the show with 167, while Rahul contributed 82 and Dhruv Jurel added a valuable 51.

Prabath Jayasuriya starred with the ball for Sri Lanka, returning with the figures of 4 for 109 in his 39 overs.
