Digvesh Rathi brought out his famous "notebook" send-off after dismissing his Delhi teammate Priyansh Arya. The iconic moment occurred during a Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday (August 16).

Rathi, representing Purani Dilli 6, got the prized scalp of Arya in the 10th over of Outer Delhi Warriors’ innings. The leg-spinner bowled a back-of-a-length delivery outside off, which Arya failed to connect cleanly on an attempted shot down the ground and was caught at long-on.

As soon as Rohan Rathi completed the catch, Digvesh Rathi ran towards the departing batter and performed his signature gesture.

Rathi first introduced this Kesrick Williams-style celebration during the IPL 2025 season. He did it while playing for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) after taking Arya's wicket.

Rathi later revealed that the gesture stemmed from a friendly pre-match pact. The two Delhi teammates had agreed to celebrate uniquely if they outdone one another.

Despite the friendly intent, the animated send-off breached the BCCI Code of Conduct. It resulted in a 25% match fee fine and one demerit point. Rathi was even handed a one-game ban later in IPL 2025 after repeating similar antics.

While Rathi briefly modified the celebration by writing on the ground to avoid fines, he could not resist bringing back the classic notebook send-off during their high-voltage rivalry match in the DPL.
