SA v IND 2023-24: WATCH - Rohit Sharma spotted at Mumbai airport as he leaves for South Africa

Rohit Sharma recently made his first public appearance after being replaced by Hardik Pandya as the Mumbai Indians (MI) captain on December 15, 2024, ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Mumbai Indians’ (MI) unexpected move surprised many, considering Rohit’s success as captain, leading the franchise to five IPL titles. However, this change was on the cards ever since the MI traded Hardik Pandya from the Gujarat Titans (GT) ahead of the auction.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma was seen at Mumbai International Airport on Friday, December 15, heading to South Africa for the upcoming two-match Test series. In the viral video, Rohit was seen sporting a black t-shirt in the Mumbai airport with his luggage as he was leaving for South Africa.

The Indian skipper was rested for the recent T20I series and the upcoming ODI series in South Africa. Rohit will be leading Team India in the two-match Test series, starting with the Boxing Day Test in Centurion on December 26.

Rohit and Virat Kohli left for the rainbow nation around 10 days prior to the opening Test to start preparations for the much-awaited red-ball series against South Africa.
