Sri Lanka, India, and Bangladesh will be going against one-another in the Nidahas T20 Tri-series 2018 from 6th March at the R. Premadasa Stadium.
India will be playing in the tournament with some of their main players missing out. Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav were amongst the players who were rested for this tournament.
Let’s have a look at the COC predicted India XI for the series. Though most of the players in the Indian squad are likely to have a match, this predicted XI is the best out of the lot for the first match.
Now Rohit Sharma will be leading the Team India again after the Sri Lanka series in December. It will be a chance for Rohit to prove himself as an able leader after a good start to his captaincy career. He will be partnered by Shikhar Dhawan, who had an amazing T20I series against South Africa.
Suresh Raina, who made a successful comeback in the Indian team against the Proteas, will helm the no.3 spot in the playing eleven. KL Rahul at no.4 and Manish Pandey at no 5 will form the middle order of team India.
KL Rahul warmed the bench during the South Africa T20I series, but he might get some match time in the Nidahas Tri-series. Manish Pandey has more or less cemented his place in the XI for future series after his exploits in South Africa.
Dinesh Karthik will don the gloves in absence of MS Dhoni and will play the role of finisher along with Tamil Nadu teammate Vijay Shankar. Shankar, will also be the fast bowling all-rounder in the team. Akshar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal will handle the spin duties for Team India.
The two fast bowlers in Team India will be Jaydev Unadkat and Shardul Thakur, both of whom had a good outing in the South Africa series.
The Nidahas Tri-series 2018 will be played from March 6 to March 18 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Sri Lanka.
