NZ v IND 2026: WATCH- Oblivious man riding a scooter interrupts play during second India A v New Zealand A game

India A made 346 runs thanks to Dhruv Jurel's ton and fifties by Devdutt Padikkal and Akash Deep.

Man riding scooter interrupted the play between New Zealand A and India A | XThe play of the ongoing second unofficial test between India A and New Zealand A one-day trip came to an abrupt halt thanks to a man riding a scooter. This is being played at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, and New Zealand A won the toss and chose to field first.

Devdutt Padikkal and 80 and Captain Dhruv Jurel smashed 105 runs, but India A lost a few wickets for cheap runs before Akash Deep provided some contribution with 68 runs, including 10 fours and 2 sixes, as India A made 346 runs in the first innings. Fraser Sheat picked four wickets, while Brett Randell and Jarrod McKay picked two wickets each.

However, during the day one’s play, the proceedings came to a brief halt as a man riding a scooter led to Akash Deep pulling out of his batting stance at the last minute.

The incident occurred late on Day 1 at Hagley Oval as New Zealand A fast bowler Brett Randell was getting ready to deliver the 83rd over. Randell was forced to abort his run-up when India A batter Akash Deep, who had noticed a man riding a scooter across the ground in front of the sight screen, asked him to stop.

The bowler turned around, apparently uncertain about what had caused the interruption, until the situation became clear. The elderly man was crossing the ground on his scooter, seemingly in search of a good spot to watch the last few overs of the day's play.

Akash Deep made sure the bowler held off until the man had crossed safely, briefly bringing the action to a halt. The unusual sight amused the Indian players, and the commentators also laughed about the incident, jokingly congratulating the man on finding one of the best spots to watch the game.
