Former Australian spinner and cricket commentator Brad Hogg took a sly dig at India after their embarrassing 10-wicket defeat against New Zealand in the opening Test of the two-match Test series on Monday (February 24) in Wellington.

Virat Kohli and his team suffered a harrowing defeat by 10 wickets at the hands of Kane Williamson's men in Wellington, as the Kiwi pacers dominated the proceedings throughout the game on the green Basin Reserve pitch to win the match within four days.

It was India’s first defeat in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship with the second and final Test – last game of their New Zealand tour will be held in Christchurch from February 29.

Meanwhile, Hogg was clearly unhappy with Indian team's deteriorating performances in the ongoing New Zealand tour, as the tourists have begun the tour very strongly, winning all five Twenty20 Internationals, but they let the Kiwis make a winning comeback, as they won all three One Day Internationals before the socking them in the Wellington Test.

India came up with a poor batting display in the first Test, as they could post only 165 and 191 runs in both innings at Basin Reserve to suffer a heavy ten-wicket defeat on early Monday morning.

Following the surprising defeat, Hogg took to Twitter to point out India's struggle in New Zealand over the so many years in the Test cricket while claiming the visitors meant business in the first two weeks of the tour while the other four weeks have turned into a "sight-seeing" tour.

Referring to the India tour of New Zealand as a "sight-seeing" tour, Hogg said the tourists have only five days to prepare for the Christchurch Test and find the solution on how to play the seaming ball.

He wrote on Twitter, “India still have there troubles in New Zealand in test cricket. Batsmen have 5 days to find a way to play the seaming ball before Christchurch. First 2 weeks they meant business, next 4 weeks turning into a sightseeing tour.”
